It was the second year in a row he killed a deer with his wife's bow because she couldn't take the shot- Not the second year in a row he wounded and lost one.

I think it takes pretty good nerves to swap camera for bow, get set, draw, and release accurately on a nice buck- not the type of person who gets buck fever is all. My guess is he just over thought the shot on that monster with his own bow, tried to be a little too perfect and anticipated the buck to try and duck the shot and he didn't. Bad luck

I see, I misunderstood what you meant then. I didn't watch every second of the video, I couldn't stand watching her try to draw that bow so I skipped ahead to the big buck. Once I saw him wound the deer and not recover it, I shut it off in disgust.

That is no recovery. Closure yes but certainly not a recovery.

Not being mean spirited. I’ve been there myself. That is why I can say for certain, that is not a recovery.

Careful. The anti-hunters have used that argument many times in regards to archery bow hunting.....and we all know how flawed that argument is.

That is actually in Iowa. Caleb Byers and his wife. He is from my hometown. The deer grossed 233" and as stated, was found very late winter. You can Google him and see plenty of that deer and others or watch on Midwest Whitetail. I believe he killed a 215" the year or two before. I think he lost permission on one of his properties over greed for big deer. Same old crap, different day.
