This is the second time in 6 years I have to go through this @#$%^! [IMG]
The upside is I should be good-to-go come the September season opening.

Been there - Done that. Sport the scars.

Good luck. Sept. '99, for me.....and it's better than my "good" shoulder. I thought I'd messed up big-time, swimming with paddles, just this week. I think it's OK, though.

Are you getitng scoped? If so.....you "might" be good for Sept.. If they slice ya.......I'd buy the NCAA all-access pass.

Getting the scope again. Last time I took a doe with a 70# recurve before the doc wanted me even lifting anything. I'm going to take it more easy though this time, because I just don't bounce back like I used to.
    This getting older really sucks!

Not saying your guys have done this because I have no idea but this is why I only have a 60 lbs DW (compound). I could pull much more IF I thought it was necessary. Bows are so damn good these days I don't need anymore. It's not worth it to me.

Hopefully this decision will pay dividends late in my bow hunting career.

    Good luck Bowbender.

Your decision to draw lower weight is valid but just so you know, I can still pull my bows and shoot. Those muscles aren't the ones that are torn.

Yeah, I am not a human anatomy expert but I am surprised that there still would not be pain with a rotator cuff. Good to hear that you can still shoot.

Man best of luck, had a nasty tear on my right in 05, surgery sucked. They told me If I tore it again the surgery would be worse. My right is now better than my left. good luck, hope it goes smooth.

wow - good luck, hope you heal up quickly!

I've been putting off shoulder surgery for a torn bicep head for 8 years now, and hope to continue...fear of recovery and not being able to ride and hunt (and extreme fear of Navy docs) keep me away from the knife...

scream if you need any help - I am in and out of Stafford for the month of Jun, back home in Jul...but home on the weekends right now, if you need a hand moving something or anything else you can't do with the bad shoulder - hit me with a PM.

Sean, I've heard about those Navy doc's, I'd stay away too.
That's damn nice of you to offer your help, THANK YOU
Hope we get to shoot together before bow season opens.

Good luck man, I wish you the best... I know that's no fun.

I got cut open in late December of 2006. Extremely fortunate for me, my grandmother has a ridiculously high pain tolerance that has been passed down to me (not always good as pain is there for a reason) and I was able to rehab extremely hard without pain. I started shooting my bow lightly at the 3 month mark.

At least I got the shoulder fixed to go with the scar...

Yep, it sure is hell to get old. Best of luck VA.

I got a new scar too, but it's not on my shoulder. Had hip resurfacing done almost 5 weeks ago now. Getting around pretty good now.

Went through it in 2005??? Make sure you follow the Dr's orders, unless the doctor tells you not to do anything with that arm for 6 weeks and then start Physical Therapy. Mine did that to me and it was locked up with scar tissue and they had to go back in and "manipulate" the shoulder. My shoulder now tells me when there is rain coming and I only got 60% usage back.
