That's tough! I had a disc removed and had to blow off the whole season a few years ago. But at least you know the routine....listen to the doc,go thru the pt,and don't overdo it. Good luck with it ;)

Dang that stinks Rob. I wish you the best of luck. Take it easy and do the physical therapy.

i injured my left shoulder about 3 mos ago....not sure how but i think it was loading kids in carseats into the car. (wife and i have 15 mo. old triplets)

anyway, i haven't shot in a couple of mos and decided to shoot my longbow yesterday. I shot 3 arrows and had to stop. Dr. has me on inflammatory pills for now but i'll probably have to go to a specialist. sux

no pain, no gain... I am a fairly tough individual, really high pain threshold enhanced from years of martial arts. I had a bout of tennis elbow last year that was really bad...tolerated it for about 3 months and had to tap and went to the doc.

The one guy at the PT shop over at OCS made me sick to my stomach from the pain from my "massage" - and one guy had tears in my eyes...and I was warned off the "master of disaster" or the "pain train" the about 5' Navy LT who was supposed to be the terror of all of them and she weighed in about 100 wet.

I am/was supposed to go over for my knee, arthritis and such from a motorcycle accident I had last year. Went for my initial and figured the pain of the injury was less then the PT.

Hope it goes better for you!

I thought I had injured the repair and went to the doctor for an evaluation. He thought it was OK and said to continue PT. I have been working very hard at it and have had significant improvement. Although every morning when I awake it's like starting all over again with the stiffness. After I work it out it is OK for the rest of the day.
I pulled a 42# bow for the first time since the surgery today. Tomorrow I might try to shoot some arrows.
shhh...don't tell my doctor, and no I won't over do it.

I feel your pain, so to speak. How's the recovery going at this point? Did you get to shoot any yet? I had the cartilage in my right shoulder repaired in mid October 2007. I was shooting my 70# Drenalin again by the end of November. It was my first year bowhunting and I wasn't about to miss it so I worked my butt off and got there. Keep us posted and don't push it too hard.

Yes I did some stump shooting on Wed. I started out at 10 yrd and was shooting very low. By the time we came full circle I was shooting 6" groups at 20 yrd. My shoulder was pretty tired when we were done but not sore. I figured my shoulder would be pretty cramped in the morning after working it hard but I think it was actually better after the work out. I'll not shoot again until maybe Monday, I don't want to push too hard and maybe ruin the beginning of the season.
I will kill a doe before Sept is over.
