Hey all I am in a bit of dilemma. So I am hoping I can get some feedback. Basically I want to know everything you know about Ross bows as I am thinking about switching to their line of bows but after seeing some postings from awhile back it makes me a bit Leary even though everything I have seen in their bows looks great to me.
I thought Ross bows got bought out or went under. I think it's the bow company that was in deep for non-payment to Matthews? for making their risers and gave Matthews the Ross inventory to make good on the debt. I think that's how the story went.
Not sure they still exist.. Doing some research and it looks like G5 possibly bought them out. They dont have much information online about the company itself.
On their website it says they came out with a new line of bows in 2012 and I believe they had a booth at the ATA so I am pretty sure they are still around. I was wondering if anybody shoots there bow and if you would trust if they are back up and going that they will keep going now.
Ross is now back is business. They made a great bow prior to closing the business the first time. I have not shot any of the newer models. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
Why would you want to go with a bow company that you can't find information about? There are so many good bow manufacturers out there that do a great job. Hoyt, Mathews and Bowtech come to mind. Just curious.
I am not going to go with them after all the sketchy responses. PSE yes I agree, someday I will own a PSE.
I've been shooting a 08 Ross cardiac for the past four years. I love the thing to death but would have no idea where to start if I ever needed parts or service ( obviously I would ask here first ) I was told once that my bow was interchangeable with the G5 line.
nsimmons- For a little history about Ross Archery because they are in my backyard and I have learned a lot about them in the past couple of years. Ross started up in Kansas City, wanting to be a small bow company and sell a couple hundred bows a year. They started getting bigger and more popular and thats when Bow Tech came around and bought them out. Andy Ross(founder) and BowTech worked together for a couple years but then could not agree on certain products and payments and parted ways. Andy is known as a great guy but a bad businessman and the company was very unorganized, But the guy could build one hell of a bow. Great bow designer, but bad business model. After the fall out with BowTech/G5 a guy from Kansas City Kansas bought the company and still owns it to this day. Andy Ross is no longer the owner but still does some PR with Ross Archery. Their bows are hand made in Kansas City USA and they have came up with even better bows then the very popular Cardiac with the Crave line. They also have the lightest bow on the market in the XD weighing just 3.16 lbs. with an IBO speed of 320. I currently own a Ross Crave and it is just as smooth and fast as any mathews or PSE ive shot before. IBO of 335. They have a great website where you could learn more about the company and where you can buy them. They have dealers all over the country. They also have a great Facebook page as well you can check out. I listed their website below. www.rossarchery.com pm if you need any information because these bows are sweet! Go to youtube where you can watch test shoots of the crave!
Ross makes a pretty good bow. My local bowshop is a Ross dealer and he says most people like them, especially for the price.
