This will be my first season bowhunting and was wondering what you recommend a first timer be shooting out of,a climbing tree stand or a ground blind?I will also be hunting on public land if that plays a part in the decision.Would really appreciate any advice.

If your hunting public land, most states have laws saying that you cant have permanent stands or blinds set up for hunting on public land but check you state laws. So my advice would be to scout out a spot, find a good climbing tree and use a climber, it usually takes deer awhile to get used to a blind. Ive always had more luck with climbers anyway than blinds but i just got a new property to hunt this year and i can only hunt from a blind in the best areas because there aren't any good trees to hang on.

Depends on what you are comfortable with and the situation. Tree stand is going to give you a better advantage big one being it lets you see the deer before they see you. But there are some areas you may hunt that you cant put up a stand and would need a blind. Last year I bought a climber and my hunting buddy bought a blind and he hated it. This year he's buying a tree stand and I'm buying a blind for hunting mule deer in a field with no trees to hang off of. Another thing to consider is are you ok with heights or how is your back.

If your thinking about a stand, make sure you've practiced from it, have set it up/practiced setting up & taking down AND have a decent safety harness!
