Came to full draw on a mature doe, the arrow popped off the string immediately, and as I began to let the string back down , my release came loose, and dry-fired my bow. KaPOW!

I'm the bozo Benny Hill of bowhunting, I chuckled to myself, as my string dangled in the cold breezy air. On top of everything on my plate this week, I've got to get my bow fixed. LOL.

So, I learned an arrow knocked before daylight can get loose three hours later and a release on a d-ring may not be as snug as you think when attached in a hurry.

Check and re-check how secure your nock is on the string, guys and gals, unless you want to duplicate my Barnum & Bailey circus act at the moment of truth. Woulda' coulda' shoulda' been my second deer kill ever.

Could be worse. You could have got your thumb stuck in the bow.

Been there, had it happen a few months ago when I was practicing. It happens to everyone as some point. Hope the bow is ok.
