Rookie Help Please UPDATE!!! This evening while shooting my Bear Charge that has had less than 100 arrows put through it, 90% of the arrows consistently hit the target left of my aiming point. I adjusted the sight as far left as it will go and still hit left of my aiming point. Thanks for any advice.
New sight? Theres several different things that could be wrong. 1. It could be your form but I doubt it if most of your arrows are hitting left. 2. If you have adjusted your sight to its maximum position to the left and the error wasn't corrected than you may need a whole new sight. I'm buying a new sight because I can't place a ten yard pin high enough on my bow. 3. I shoot a bear too, and you might wanna try adjusting the sight closer or farther away from the peep sight. Usually there are two options and two sets of holes for the screws. Closer and farther. It might make a difference. Good luck, sorry if this doesn't help at all.
Thanks, I checked and my sights were in the close set of holes so I moved them out and will try tomorrow.
How is the tune? Paper? Walk back? Knock an arrow, from behind the bow, line the string up down the middle of your arrow, are you pins in line with your arrow and string? They should all be on the same plane.
Your sight pins should be pretty much inline with the bow string, if there way over to one side it could be your arrow rest is out of wack (move it the the right) or you may have a bit of lean on the ideler wheel? OR your form might be off?. I don't think it is form as I think mine is pretty good & had the exact same problem on my old 09 Diamond Marquis, sights maxed out to the left. & knew the center shot was spot on too. If I wer you I would check the cam & idler wheel for exessive lean hope it helps mate
So it was my rest, I watched one of the videos on tuning for center and checked the rest with lining the arrow up with the limb bolts and it was way left. After adjustment then setting center at 20yrds and walking back to 40yrds I am happy to say that the past 2 evenings I have cut a vane on 2 arrows, even if it is only at 20yrds. But THANKS for the help and THANKS to Bowhunting.com for all the wealth of knowledge that is available. p.s. I re-fletched both arrows with NAP Twisters, whoever came up with that idea should be knighted!!! Here's to Bow Hunting!!!!
