I have shot Rockets for the better part of the last 15-20 years. AMAZING heads. I have shot everything from the old Miniblasters and wolverines to currently different variations of the steelhead xl xp original. I currently have sidewinders in my quiver and for overall whitetail performance I think I prefer the sidewinder. I have taken many whitetails and a few other species. Have witnessed Rockets kill blackbears, elk, deer ect. They are great heads! The steelheads are penetrating machines and great heads I would never hesitate to use them I have just had such great results with sidewinders I seem to always buy more.

Trophy Ridge purchased Rocket a few years ago and IMO quality has not changed the meatseeker is a TR design and not a rocket design I can't comment one way or the other on this head.

Pros of Rockets= field point accuracy, great penetration, fast recovery good blood trails, 100% fail safe they always open, blade design performs well on angled shots.

Cons= 1 shot heads rarely will you shoot one twice without replacing the blades to me this is a non issue

Myth busters= "Blades bend this is a negative"-truth this is by design its much easier to bend slightly and continue penetrating than push through a rib!............................."I don't like the rubber band" truth this is much more fail safe than locking blades blades that lock particularly if you have replaced them yourself can stay locked. Rockets open 100% of the time its a hinge they have to open

disclaimer: I have used a few other brands throughout the years simply to try them jumped on the rage band wagon for a short time ect. Rage gave IMO no benefit in recovery time or blood trails and did not even come close to matching rockets penetration I have long since gone back to rockets and never had more confidence in my head than I do now!

yeah i have shot rage for probably a good part of the last 5 years and have been nothing but happy with them. Typically 2 deer a year and never once had a problem. But now with the pro staff I have to switch over to rocket broad heads (not complaining one bit) I like the meat seekers but the only thing that scares me is how that head/ slide design would hold up if lets say you hit the shoulder area

I personally would go with a Steelhead or Sidewinder over the meatseeker you will not be disappointed!
