Wrong forum. Just say'en. Speaking of Jayhawks..... The year is 2036 and the United States has just elected the first woman as President of the United States. A few days after the election, the president-elect calls her father in Kansas and asks, "So, Dad, I assume you will becoming to my inauguration?" "I don't think so. It's a long drive; your mom isn't as young as she used to be, we'll have the dog with us, and my arthritis is acting up in my knee." "Don't worry about it, Dad, I'll send Air Force One or another support aircraft to pick you up and take you home, and a limousine will pick you up at your door," she said. "I don't know. Everybody will be so fancy. What would your mother wear?" "Oh, Dad," she replied, "I'll make sure she has a wonderful gown custom-made by one of the best designers in New York ." "Honey," Dad complained, "You know we can't eat those rich foods you and your friends like to eat." The President-elect responded, "Don't worry, Dad. The entire affair is going to be handled by the best caterer in D.C.and I'll ensure your meals are salt-free. Dad, I really want you to come." So her parents reluctantly agreed, and on January 20, 2037,arrived to see their daughter sworn in as President of the United States. The parents of the new President are seated in the front row. The President's dad notices a senator sitting next to him and leans over and whispers, "You see that woman over there with her hand on the Bible, becoming President of the United States ?" The Senator whispered in reply, "Yes I do." Dad says proudly, "Her brother played basketball at KU."
Not really. Could you expand? What the hell does rock chalk mean? Is this a new thing? I havent' heard this rock chalk jayhawk until this year. Maybe I just havent' paid attention. Or maybe it's cause they actually have some national attention this year.
Definitely not a new thing. Been around forever. Comes from the ground that the KU campus is built on. Its built on Chalk rock. Some idiot along time ago decided to switch the words around and make a chant saying Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU. IMO its the dumbest chant/slogan in all of sports.
National Weather Service Advisory - Topeka, KS - has issued a flash flood warning for all counties downstream of Lawrence Ks. People are urged to seek higher ground as tears are not expected to end till some time next week.
Oh man what a great game. As Bill Self said in the rews conference. "we didn't lose the game they just beat us." I'm getting ready to head back to Lawrence to kill some Kansas Turkeys. Kansas has some of the best turkey hunting around.
Great game? I was thinking at half time that we had a boring NC game for the second year in a row. Last year's was by far the worst I have ever seen. The second half got a little better, but far from great. Kentucky dominated that game. I don't think anyone outside of Kentucky fans thought that game was "great". Kansas was never really in the game. They were on the verge of getting back into it a few times, but couldn't capitalize. Missed dunks, missed free throws, turnovers, etc. Self said all the right things after his team just lost the NC game. He's right, Kentucky beat them, but Kansas certainly didn't play their best ball. I'd give that game a 4 out of 10.
I'm the biggest UK fan I know....and that game sucked lol. The outcome was awesome and expected, but the game itself was anticlimactic. They did the same they did the whole tournament.... Blow a team out the first half, take their foot off the gas and coast into a safe victory. They were quoted all tournament long as saying Cal was pulling back the reins to manage the game better during 2nd halves, likely with thoughts of 2008 and 2010 in his mind.
I'm a huge UK fan too and I thought the game was a little boring. I also don't like how they take their foot off the pedal. UK was better than KS in every position except 1. I would have loved to see them win by 30. I think they could have if they didn't try to hold the ball the whole second half. Thats the only reason the Jayhawks even got halfway back into it. Trying to hold the ball just zaps all your momentum and drive to score. I actually didn't think KS played bad. I think they played as well as they could have against a team that was superior to them in almost every way.
