So I'll be the first to admit that I screwed up. Hit a buck low. I backed out 3 hours and found the arrow and blood. Arrow was buried in the dirt and covered in blood. Trailed the deer to the neighbors and stopped and asked for permission. Picked up the trail again and found several spots larger spots of blood. Trailed him to the front corn field. Got to the front field in about 60 yards and busted him out of his bed which had a fair amount of blood. The buck ran back towards our farm so I decided to follow the blood so I could get off the neighbors and then back out. Waited for about two hours and picked up the trail again after getting permission. About 100 yards in busted him from his bed again. Continued to search after for the fact due to impending rain and then lost the trail. I read the blood trailing tips and my best guess is I hit one lung at best. In hindsight, I would have let him sit from 0830 when I shot till at after the evening hunt but we found good blood and rain was in the forecast. Any tips? Am I wrong for asking the neighbors to let me know if they see the deer dead or alive? Going to put out more cameras and see if he is still running around. Also, buddy is hunting right now and heard crows in the area of where he could be, but I'm not hopeful. Thanks, sorry for the long post

He's a dead deer. One lung takes longer to expire, but he sounds like he's hurting. Wouldn't bother asking the neighbors. The only trouble will be finding him. I would have recommended calling in a dog, but now that you've spoilt the area by tracking, the dog is going to have a very hard time. Not impossible, but tough. When you found the first puddle/bed you should have backed out and left him till morning. Now its a careful tracking game. Best of luck! Hope you find him!

I have been told a deer can survive a one ling hit. I can't say for sure or confirm that. I think it is more likely to die, but it will be tough to find him...you bumped him a lot. however, the fact that he has bedded twice and let you get close enough means that he is not in the best condition.
