I was just wondering if you guys have done this much. Shooting an arrow inside another arrow, that is. I was just noticing OHbowhunter's avatar and it made me wonder how common this is.
I've done it three times, not including a time that I nicked the end of an arrow and broke the knock on it. I don't think it's something that's supposed to happen a whole lot, but if you're shooting tight groups it's bound to happen. The other day in one of my archery practices one of the guys did it twice in one night.
I've only done it a couple of times. I have had shots that missed the knocks, but hit the field tip of the adjacent arrow inside the target. That's only happened once.
i've got one... if u do it at a range sometimes they'll have all the ones on a wall with ur pic by it! i chose to keep mine =-)
Ive done it once and it hangs in my living room. I never shoot groups anymore though being that my arrows cost $90 per dozen. Ive got tired of changing nocks or tearing fletching.
I believe that was #13, Buckeye has a BUNCH of them, and I'll never get to that point. I've done quite a few, and there were a couple that I was really trying, the rest I was usually just shooting groups adjusting things or whatever. How common, I've probably shot 30,000 shots in the last 4-5yrs, give or take 5,000 and all of them have come in that period. Only 2 have come off of NON-Dropaway rests. And they've been shot out of 4 different bows at distances between 24 and 32 yds, one being at 28, a couple at 24, all the rest were at 32yds. Just my rundown of how many and how I've shot mine. I have shaved some fletching, and busted a couple arrows with BH's through the years, but I won't shoot a BH at the same spot anymore.
This is why I shoot 5 spot targets. Arrows cost too much. I used to get very tight groups, and one day I found that 5 out of 6 of my arrows had deep dents in the sides of them. Had to get new ones made up.
