Anybody ever try it? Found some in Ohio at heartland wildlife institute. Figured everyone around here is using plain corn and if I gave them something that they can only get from me then it could make a difference.

I would think late season that would be killer. Not sure if it would draw them away from acorns or standing corn early on though. Give it a shot and let us know how it works.

Lol, Sota...I don't think the OP'ers talking about crops hit by fire if that was what you were thinking.

I've never seen roasted corn offered but soybeans are better feed after being roasted. Most birds can't even tolerate raw soybeans in much volume because of the tripsin inhibitors in them. Even with deer, it is said that beans provide more protein and nutrients after roasting. Roasting unlocks some of the stuff that normally would pass through without being broken down by the bacteria in their stomachs.

The roasted products I've seen have been pretty pricey, I just grind my own corn, bean and milo bin run grain and have pretty good luck with it. Even raw, beans will raise the protein content of the mix and add some diversity to the diet. I'm not a nutritionist but I've done quite a bit of research on the subject through years of raising game birds and managing deer.
