I agree this is one of dumbest threads I've seen in awhile. For one it's just stupid to do let alone go and brag about it.

    You folks make assumptions much?

On the way home yesterday, I stopped by and chatted with a neighbor. He was drinking a beer in his car. He had just finished a morning turkey hunt.

I wondered, how often this is done. Per the question.

The assumption I was "bragging" is a little ridiculous.....since I've never done it (and you wouldn't know).

Buy hey, I appreciate the name calling.

    If you make a thread about trespassing - I don't assume you're a trespasser....same thing.

Judging by the number of beer cans I pick up from my ditch every weekend, I'd say its very common.

IC2M is a good dude and I question the attacks. He didn't brag or say he did anything of that nature.

But I'll answer the question. I've been known to have one in my UTV with me as I go check trail cams on the land. Big deal.

sorry the bragging part was not about you it's about anybody that decided to comment and brag about having one on the road. I still think it's dumb.

There's a guy that I work with that only lives a mile or so away. It is a very common for him to be driving down the back roads putting down a few or more. It kinda irritates me, but even more so when a bunch of empties end up in my yard.

Cans are too valuable to litter. I save my cans, a year's worth of cans can get me $60-$80 depending on their value when I take them to the recyclery.

    That's kinda strong.

I am a very moderate drinker with only the occasional beer or glass of wine. I haven't been drunk in around 25 years nor have I been drunk but a few times n my life going all the way back to High School. And I don't drink while driving....ever.

But having said that, what's more dangerous to other drivers and to themselves, the hardworking guy who has one or two beers on his way home after a hard day or his boss and clients who just finished a round of golf and a case of beer while doing so and getting on the road?

Don't get me wrong. I am all for open container laws as no good can come from the guy I mentioned above, and two wrongs don't make a right, but how many of us have a beer or two while out dining and then drive somewhere? Only difference, assuming both are under the legal limit, is that one is against the law and the other's not.

    ^^^ not a bad point
I used to live in Jackson Hole WY and at the time (not sure if it still is) it was perfectly legal to have an open container. Not in city limits mind you but it the surrounding county. Always thought that it was kinda odd as I had lived in quite a few places and hadn't ever heard of suck a thing before. They also have ALOT of DUI arrests so..........

Exactly. What about dinking a single beer is any different than a soda other than the "law"? Many countries have laws against drinking(anything) and driving or eating for that matter, something about not paying due care/attention to the road. Look around next time you're on the road and count how many people you see texting, talking, or otherwise distracted with their phones. That scares me more than a guy having a cold beer.

People drinking a beer or two and driving doesn't bother me. I have a self imposed rule of 3 beers or under if I am driving home through town, but most of the time the road home is through a pasture. In that case I am not too worried about it. The people that are riding the yellow line while looking at their phone is what scares me

Do other states have drive-thru daiquiri shops? Or is this just a LA thing?
