So I'm driving down Rt 136 near the quarry and horse farm at about 6-6:30ish, when I see a car come to a stop going the other way. I see a shadow, so I stop thinking deer crossing. Nope, a Doe must have been hit by a car and was running circles in the street, just kept falling. Daughter breaks out in tears saying make it stop...Doe looked real distressed. Me being Daddy and the big bad hunter I throw it in park, hazard lights go on, now with 2 more cars behind me, I get out, whip my knife open, and walk towards the Doe in the middle of the road now. I can only guess what the people in the car were thinking seeing this go down....LMAO. Anywho, the Doe runs to the rear of my truck, bounced off the rear quarter, and stood on the white line at the ditch, I again walk towards the Doe when she bolts into the woods and goes down again, gets up only to run a few more yards when I hear another crash....no idea if she'll make it, but almost had dinner and a show Bet the car behind me will have a good story for a while.
Should of hit the deer again with your car if you wanted to salvage it. That doe will probably survive if a predator does not get it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The Doe was pretty messed up just flailing around, laying in the street, get up trying to run only to fall after a few leaps/steps. I was less than 3' from her a few times looking for my opening. When she went behind my truck, I thought that was it. Hope she made it.
