I'm going to change rests, and I'm trying to find the difference between the two. They both lock down after the shot which is the reason why I'm changing rests(my QAD hunter does NOT lock down and I'm thinking that its bouncing up and that's where my fletching contact is coming from).
As near as I can tell its just a personal thing and price. It looks like the QAD costs more. What say they group, whats the difference between the two rests?

I have the RipCord and i love it. My buddy has the QAD and he loves it too. I think its more just what you want to pay and what you like. I don't see how you could go wrong with either one but thats just my opinion. Sorry I'm not much help on comparing the two but i think they are both good rest.

I have always used a ripcord and never had any problems. Why change when it works!

I use the Ripcord, but installing a Qad soon. The fact that it stays up on a letdown is a huge plus while hunting, IMO

QAD. I use an HDX. Good product, excellent customer service, made in the USA. I am sure you can say the same about the Ripcord, so use what you like. I like QAD so I stick with them.

I have owned 2 ripcords, the code red and the SOS. Some friends at work have both had the code red.
The rest for all of us has been flawless. I've never had as much as a hiccup out of it.

When I was getting a new rest for my new bow it came down to the ripcord and QAD, but after thinking about it, it was an easy decision, no sense in spending money unnecessarily.

I'm sure the QAD is a great product and they have a huge following on here, I just don't get how it's $50 better.

QAD is the way to go. I can't speak for Ripcord but I have had 2 QADs and they've been all I could ask for

I thought the Ripcord stayed up to. If not, then my decision is made, its the QAD.

Nope, the Ripcord drops anytime the bow goes from full draw to the normal position.

The ripcord will only stay up if you manually flip it up before you draw. Of you draw and then let down it will not stay up. The qad is the only rest on the market that is full contAinment and will stay up

I have to agree with above posts and the big reason why I got my QAD HDX Ultra was that it stays in up position when letting down my draw and it doesn't bounce back up upon arrow release. The fact it came in some pretty cool colors helped too. Great rest!

QAD or maybe Schaffer opposition (heard good things and actually the pro shop is near me so I may switch one of these days). I have the HDx and love it, the fact that it keeps the arrow contained on let down sealed the deal for me as well.
