Well, some of you may know that I was looking forward to getting back to WI to chase a buck we got a few pictures of last Fall. His long brows were very unique....hence the name, Browser. I've been thinking about him all summer, picturing the moment he comes into view and I see those brows for the first time in person. Even playing the shot over and over in my mind.

As I was driving home today from camp and the farther south I drove, I got more and more excited about the prospect of chasing him next week after coming back from IL. Then, the phone rang.....its my brother at the cabin. All he could tell me was, "Browser's dead." Being the smart ass that he is, I didn't believe him. He told me that one of our other brothers called him and he saw it on the news. (They have a big buck brag board)

Well, I turned on the laptop a little bit ago and went right to the website......sure enough, it was him.

Here's a link to the picture. (the website won't let me copy the picture)

What a monster! Thats sucks someone else got him. I know how you feel, I hunted a 3 beam buck for 2 years, only to have a someone else get it. Hopefully he has some good offspring for you to hunt in the coming years!

The saving grace is, we have some other big boys running in the area. Probably at least 6 others I would shoot, if not more.

He was just unique, with those brows.

He would have looked good on your wall Dan, not to mention the Team score. Now you just have to go out and kill a bigger one.:)

Well that certainly sucks! Any clue how far away from your place he was killed?

Don't fret too much, I just spent the last few hours going through all of our footage from last year (ours and yours) and assembling our hit list. We had a lot of really good young deer around last fall and if even 1/2 of them made it we're in for some GOOD hunting this year. I can't get over what a freaking STUD Stickers was at 2 1/2. Look at this guy!

Guaranteed. I think the brows look shorter because of the angle. At that age, bucks can lose and gain points each year, more so with abnormal points..... From my experience.

I had a pretty good idea where he was bedding. He was killed less than 1/2 mile from our property line.

I'm not fretting too much.....could you tell from my text?;)

Stickers is going to be a giant.....if we see him again. I could have shot him 2 different times, I just couldn't bring myself to do it knowing his age.

How big will our hit list be this fall? I'm jacked to see what's there.........soon!

Speaking of Stickers....you have a screen shot of him walking away in the CRP after he walked by us? I liked the look of him from behind.

Bummer, he sure was unique. Sorry to hear about that, but at least you have several other shooters you've got your eye on. Good luck!

I'll look through the footage and see what I can dig up. I've got video stills of 10 bucks that will all be 3 1/2 and older this fall on our list. Not including those couple big 10's we got on trail cam we never saw, and a few others I'm sure.

Shake it off buddy, Lots more where he came from!! Those brows were cool tho! CANNOT WAIT to get on the 'promised' lease land of Illinois. God I hope we see some of our old hit list friends again. You just never know when you're new to a property/area what is gonna be around the following year??

That's tough Dan, but congrats to the other hunter.

Good luck getting on some other good bucks. I know you're well prepared.
