i have been considering buying a bow for awhile now...my father in law has a several that he said he would let me borrow, so i was going to go try them out this weekend.

i am right handed...but left eye dominant. I do everything righthanded except shoot a rifle. i have to shoot a gun left handed, because I can close my right eye, and leave the left one open....but i can't close my left and leave the right one open.

so my question is this....can i compensate for this with a right handed bow...or would a left handed one be better....

This settles it in my opinion... If you CAN'T close your left eye and leave the right eye open, there's no question BUT to buy a LH bow.

I'm left-eye dominant and shoot right-handed, but I couldn't imagine doing it without closing my left eye.

I'd think left handed bow as well. You may have to start at a lower draw weight to build up the muscles needed though since you do most things right handed.

I wouldn't recommend it. I am the same, left eye dominant shooting RH. I got a wild hair and decided to try shooting with both eyes open. The first 2 shots were pretty good, off my mark to the left about 3 inches. The third shot ended up ricocheting off the concrete wall in my basement, though... That was pretty much the end of that!

Go lefty, you're better off by the sounds of it.

Having said that, I'm a righty w/ a left dominant eye. I shoot right handed, but I can close my left eye easily.

No, i close my left eye and use my right eye. If you are unable to keep your right eye open with your left eye shut, go with a LH bow.

If you are left-eye dominant, then a LH bow will really suite you well. You can shoot with both eyes open which is beneficial for your peripheal vision.
