Did you put the bantamweight quiver on yours ,if so got pics. Trying to decide Octane BWt or 2ps on mine. Want 29.5in oal. arrow to stay inside cams. Did you finish tuneing, what did you find? Thanks.
I'll start by saying I only use one piece quivers. I only use them to transport arrows to/from the stand. As soon as I'm there, they come off, I really don't like to shoot with anything attached. Just my personal preference. I do have a Bantamweight, and I also have my old trusty Kwikee Combo quiver with the double grippers. The Bantamweight will work great for any fixed head or traditional style mechanical, but last weekend I hunted with the bow using Rage's just because I had limited time to tune, and knew I could get the Rage's hitting good in that limited window. With the Bantamweight, I found that the Rage's would deploy sometimes when pushing into the insert inside the hood. If shooting this style mechanical, I'd recommend the regular Octane that uses magnets in the hood, or a quiver with the double grippers like the Kwikee Combo. I've got 2x packs of Grizztrick fixed blade heads that just arrived, and I'll be tuning the bow to try those out before my next hunt on 1/9. I'll be using the Bantamweight for them. The attachment system on the Octane is really fantastic and completely silent, my Kwikee is good but the BW is light years ahead of it when it comes to this. Other than the quiver, I've got the bow tuned. It's tuned to a 13/16" centershot straight down the pipe for centershot. It is sighted in to 50 yards and I'm shooting itty bitty groups with it using the Rage's. I actually wrecked 2x of my new dozen GoldTips with it on Friday getting ready for my Saturday hunt. I still need to tweak draw length a bit, and will likely check the creep tune again after I do this (since I'll be changing the DL, and I've got several hundred shots on it now and the string/cables should have settled after initial break in). Overall, I'm very impressed. I'd like to get some readings on a chrono to see how fast this is pushing my 490ish grain arrow just out of curiosity. What I can say is that I took my Spot Hogg off the Allegiance, and with the Destroyer set at the same DL, same weight, and with an arrow that weighs roughly 50 grains more.........I didn't have to move the pin gaps at all out to 50 yards. Just a few gang adjustment tweaks, and it's ready to go. Any specific questions I can answer about the bow?
Thanks. Are the camo grip inserts from BT? Mine had just a little cam lean after 150 or so shots, a couple turns on the yoke fixed it. What is the correct timeing ? Cable between the dots is where mine settled. Also what is the correct point to measure A-A with the overdrive? I want to stay on top of tuneing so I'll know it's right when I walk out after a dealer visit. Mine is shooting great so far(better than me)lol
My suggestion is to follow the creep tuning procedure which I outlined on the other thread. I would follow this process, and forget about A to A measurements, and where the cable sits when at static (rest). What matters is that you are getting a good nock travel that translates into proper arrow flight, based on your grip on the bow, nothing else really matters IMHO. I would reach out to your dealer to ask about the camo inserts. They would be your resource to get ahold of them.
