I'm a convicted felon and I can never possess a firearm again( one main reason I took up bowhunting a year ago). I totally agree there are some people who shouldn't be allowed to have one because they're not a responsible person or they're a psycho. I hate hearing about people going nuts with a gun and killing people, I hate more when people try to use these horrible events to try dis-arming America as a whole. I don't want to rant about conspiracy theories, if you care enough to do your own reasearch it's out there and available. The media will stick a camera in front of one of these heart broken parents and sway peoples opinions about the "gun" issue in America. There is a slow and steady march to dis-arm American citizens, that is a fact. If you take a gun away from an unstable killer they will only switch methods, it won't stop their urge to do harm to other people.

They are just sticking to their beliefs. You have to respect that. Too bad they don't sell chicken sandwiches or we could all meet in their parking lot.

Obviously they are not sticking to their beliefs since they sell Assault Rifles. If they believed they shouldn't sell them, then they would have never put them on the shelves in the first place.

I don't know the one near me still sells guns, ammo, & hunting stuff. If I remember correctly though they didn't do it as a response to a sensationalist media covering a tragedy.

I guess what bothers me is the fact that it seems to give weight to the "gun control" arguments lately. It's like agreeing that the guns are the problem in my mind. It will change nothing. They still sell 100's of weapons and all the ammo you can carry, even the dreaded .223...gasp.

Yup, Richard lost my gun business ... and he also lost my golf business. Wait, he lost all my business. I used to shop at the original Diks back in the 50s in Binghamton, NY. At that time all they were was a gun, ammo, hunting clothing store. I also buy my jeans and Carhart T's at Diks. Also a ton of fishing stuff every year for my trip to Canada. Nevermore.

This is just sickening. Not to sound harsh, radical or insensitive but I almost wish someone would walk into a school with a box cutter and kill a bunch of kids to put a end to this stupid media frenzy. I may get slammed for the comment but this is just flat out ridiculous. I don't really wish that... but you get the point.

Just a side note but of some significance I think, Cheaper Than Dirt has also stopped ALL online firearm sales.

Buds gun shop is offline. So they either crashed due to a increase in traffic or they have done the same.

Sounds like they're just using the Newtown Shooting as a cop-out. Either way, I don't care. At most I buy tink's 69 there or maybe some fishing lures. I'd never buy a gun at a Dic ks.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Hunker down tho bro. This is just getting started. Wait till congress comes back next year. Wait till the UN gun ban summit in March (which, btw, the US is expected to be a world leader in advocating) and god forbid. Wait until it happens again (school shooting). We r in for the fight if our lives, I'm absolutely sure of it.

It happened in China with a knife in 2010 through 2011. No one talks about it though because it wasn't here.

[Edit] My iPad isn't copying the Wikipedia link accurately but you can search China knife attack 2010 and find links.
