I don't understand all the panic either. I thought Obama took our guns in 2004? No? I'm pretty sure that happened because I read similar posts back then.

By pulling them off the shelves. Are they supporting our rights? No.

Yes. They have that option. Yes. I have that option. Which I intend to exercise. Like I said. Line in the sand.

In related news, Walmart is pulling all GI Joe action figures.

    Line in the sand.

Everyone's line is different. You're entitled to yours. I'm entitled to mine. And for the love of this country I hope you're right. But if I'm right. We're in trouble.

Yes, just not the scary black ones as per NEW61375's post.
I'm not shopping there anymore because now they are being racist.

I didn't shop there much because they are over priced. They are not supporting my consumer rights!

You don't think they are trying to capitalize on a bad situation by pandering on the emotions of the country right now? What does removing these weapons actually accomplish? Are they trying to show that they "care" more than other gun sellers? Instead of "pulling" them from the shelves for an indeterminate amount of time it would have been more ballsy to just announce you were no longer going to sell them. But they will just pull them from the shelves for a while to accomplish...what? The only folks that even go in the gun section are the same people that would NOT have their delicate sensibilities hurt when seeing them on the wall. The folks with delicate sensibilities all shop in the men's leotard section.

The only "black" gun I have is a 50th anniversary Rugar model 77 in the Great 264 Winchester Magnum.

It even sounds scary don't it! :)

I can't imagine their sales are going to jump up because of this, but who knows. They are doing it wrong, though. You are suppose to be anti-gay if you want to boost sales. Not anti-gun.

It is very unlikely that any significant changes to gun law are coming soon IMO. The GOP has majority in the house and until the districts are redrawn (2020) they have a good chance of keeping their majority in future elections. Everyone needs to take a breath.

Here is what their web page says.

    Statement from ****’S Sporting Goods
We are extremely saddened by the unspeakable tragedy that occurred last week in Newtown, CT, and our hearts go out to the victims and their families, and to the entire community.

Out of respect for the victims and their families, during this time of national mourning we have removed all guns from sale and from display in our store nearest to Newtown and suspended the sale of modern sporting rifles in all of our stores chainwide.

We continue to extend our deepest sympathies to those affected by this terrible tragedy.

I'm sure you can find tin foil at wal-mart for some brand new beenies.:hater:

I would have been much more impressed if they had continued to sell guns and donated all of the proceeds to the familys or some memorial fund.

I'm not defending them or chastising them, there may be some personal issues that we know nothing about.
The feds might have the place locked down till an investigation is completed, we simply don't know their reasoning.

Maybe, but if the feds have the placed locked down then the "we are suspending sales out of respect..."line is BS and that makes it even worse.

It is certainly their right to choose what they sell. I don't have a problem with that unless they are just temporarily suspending sales to appease the anti-gun crowd until this situation blows over. If they then put them back on the shelves, that's when I will have a problem with it.
