While I don't agree with their stance on pulling guns from the shelves, they are only hurting their bottom line. Guns are flying off the shelves right now. Not good business on their part.

It was a "right" to buy guns at ****'s? Well if this move isn't the alarm sounding to our constitutional rights changing, I don't know what is! I heard ****'s changed their health insurance policy for employees too. This was actually the first step in passing Obamacare. Little known fact.

I agree. Pulling "sporting guns" has to be one of the all time stupid business decisions. Not only for the present but for the future. When I go to buy ANY hunting gear, or any outdoor gear, in the future deecks will not be considered.

They are "shooting themselves in the foot", if you will.

****'s has actually been looking to get out of gun sales for a while. Kind of bad timing on that one.

I for one am getting extremely worried. This is absolutely preposterous! I don't buy much from that store anyway but I assure you I won't ever buy so much as a pair of socks from them ever again.

We gotta get active ppl. We gotta make some noise. Write your elected officials. If its organized, I for one will be headed to DC march in front of the capital. I'm NOT going to sit on my hands and quietly let this happen. Join the NRA if u aren't already a member. One of the first questions asked of them is "How many members?" We need a surge in members and we need it quickly.

Ok. I'll shut up now before I get all worked up.

I think we all know it's not a "right" to buy guns at richards but it is a chicken $hit move that will piss of many of their customers. I have personally bought three firearms from ****s in the last year along with a ton of other gear, ammo, etc. Not to sound dramatic but they are dead to me. I will not spend another penny there. Everbodys screaming about guns and sadly most don't know what they're screaming about. But hey, "we can do better". Shakes head, whatever.

I called the 2 richards closest to to me and the convo went like this:
Me "You guys stop selling rifles?"
She says "No not all rifles, just modern sporting rifles."
I'm like "which ones are those?'
She's like "oh just the assault rifles".
I say "you sell assault rifles or sporting rifles?".
She replies "we took down most of the black ones."
I jokingly say "like the scary ones from TV?"
    She says "Yes."

    Bye Bye Richards.

I don't understand the backlash here. While yes, it's kind of a surprising deal & probable poor business move consdering the absolute speed at which guns are flying off the shelves, I don't think it's as "sky falling", Richard's is now the new devil to top wal mart that many of you are reacting like.

What's wrong with them showing some sensitivity to what's been the most impactful mass shooting ever. And if they don't re-instate firearms sales, who cares? The "little guy" gun store owner is going to BOOM over this. Shouldn't we be happy for him. All you guys do is ***** & moan about the little guy & here's a giant boost for him & ya *****.

If I'm not mistaken I remember people posting that a lot of Walmarts around the country stopped selling hunting guns and hunting gear a few years back? Why not boycott them as well....

That's funny. And unfortunately 95% of the american population fears a gun based 100% on the way it looks. And was also the entire premise of the "assault weapons" ban. Those guns were banned on appearance.

Rybo I agree the little guy is gonna benefit from this. Now there's more available from distributors that normally would be consumed by them. But ya gotta draw the line somewhere and for me. That line is this. Either our 2nd amendment rights are supported or they're not. Pulling guns from shelves shows me they're not. Is the sky falling? Yes. It is. Once this freight train starts its gonna be awfully difficult to stop.

They aren't stopping your 2nd amendment rights. They have a choice on what they sell, and you have a choice on where you shop.

Walmart stopped selling guns for a while in NY a few years back. They must have took a pretty good hit because they brought them back probably 2 years ago if I remember correctly.
