The guys over at Growingdeer.tv have done an unboxing and review of the Fourth Arrow Camera Arm. I know alot of you guys are curious about this arm and this video could probably help you make up your mind on pulling the trigger!

I picked one up but haven't had a chance to even take it out of the box yet. Maybe this weekend I'll get around to playing with it.

I have 2 muddies and a lightning tree arm. Sorry to say but I'm not impressed. The carbon idea seems great but any camera with a little weight isn't gonna work. And their bigger arms are made of metal just like everyone else. No mention of the weights of these arms in the video. The other thing I noticed was the arms are short so if you have a deer come in on your off camera side you won't be able to film it. You need a tool to level it. Imagine trying to do that in the dark. Sorry guys. Just checked the website. Their Big arm weighs 9lbs 8oz

If you have a muddy outfitter the stiff arm is the same length as the muddy arm but a tad bit lighter. You are lacking about 5 inches from the length of the base than the muddy. The stiff arm and standard base are about the same weight as the muddy outfitter. The 4th arrow base does have a much larger range of motion than the muddy. The biggest benefit to me is the ability to break it down to smaller parts that pack easier. Really a decent arm but overall about the same as others. Adjusting it in the dark is not hard. You can get away with tighten by hand for the most part but with some practice using the tool I the dark is pretty easy.

I guess I'm just partial to lightning tree arms. 6lbs. 57 in. reach. I can film behind the tree on the off side

Nothing wrong with that. Everything you said was true from what I know. Just all a matter of preference. I just never got my hands on a lightning arm to make that final decision but I looked at them hard. Still may go that route this season will determine that. :tu:

Just so you know I have no affiliation with lightning tree arms other than being a customer. I did a self filming setup using a go pro silver. here's the link. Try not to be bored to death. Feel free t FF to the segments using the lightning arm. New Project 2 on Vimeo starts at 10:50 in the video

I do like the fact that the lightning arm has a huge reach, but wow it seems like a real chore to set up! It also looks very bulky, unlike the fourth arrow arm.. I'd like to see some more on each arms.
