They have reversible versions, I've used them. It's not the plumbing I'm worried about. It's the system setup and line length limitations, etc., that concern me. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
My system sits below my sink in the basement prolly around 10 feet below the dispenser... All flexible hosing.... SO easy...
Tony, does yours also run to your ice maker? How many stage is it and what brand? Thanks! Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
Mine runs my ice maker, water through the door and it's own spigot... 3 stage and it is a Rainsoft.. But I was nervous about doing it myself and went with Rainsoft and paid twice what I should have... One of my biggest regrets to this day...
Did they replace your existing spigot or add a new one alongside of it? I'll have to drill out another opening in my sink, which isn't a big deal other than buying a bit capable of doing it. Sorry for the million questions. I have until tomorrow to make a decision on whether I want them putting it in or myself. The one I was quoted is a 5 stage/75 gallon/day, with a 3.2 gallon storage stank made by ATS, the same company my UV system will be.
Just curious, Tony. Dont want to give up my main faucet for less pressure/volume for washing dishes, etc. I plan to have two spigots. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
Just happened to be the one he carries I suppose. More filters to change:D Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
You may want to do some research on those ...and you are right ..more filters to change .. which you can get right from the manufacturer WAY cheaper ...like the UV bulb...
5 stage is a lot. Way overkill in my opinion. I'd look for 3 stage. My experience has nothing to do with residential drinking water, only industrial water treatment. Once you get to a certain point thsoe extra stages aren't gaining you anything.
Thanks, Ryan. After talking to the gentleman today, I'm going to go ahead and do it myself. Now I need to start researching brands. Any suggestions everyone?
Installed a Whirlpool unit from Lowes. It has worked well. Ran only two lines... one to spigot on kitchen sink and one to the fridge for my ice. Will run a third to a basement bar spigot if that ever gets done. The water is great but the filters are $32 each. On a well, you'll replace it about every 3-4 months.
Well I decided to order and do the install myself and like PT said, REALLY glad I did. Super easy install. Only pain was drilling through all of the cabinets and having to disconnect and pull the dishwasher to feed the supply line for the ice maker on the fridge. I filled and drained the system today and it's working great. Now just waiting for the system to fill up again for use (you aren't advised to drink the water in the first batch. All in all had $210 with the upgraded oil rubbed bronze faucet.
