Well today is the day. Planting my food plots. 100% chance of rain tomorrow. Stopped at the co-op yesterday and I was like a kid in a candy store.
Barley, cereal rye, sugar beets, winter peas, clovers, chicory and kale in plot one. Sunn hemp, oats and arrowleaf clover in plot two. Chicory and clover in plot 3. Plus, when I was at the co-op I bought out the last of the kohlrabi and swiss chard seed and the manager threw in a busted half bag of Bulldog 808 alfalfa bc of how much business I do with them yearly. So, I got that going for me...
Are these plots that had summer crops on them or new for the year? I will be planting a fall /winter greens in part of a soybean field that didn't come up to well or gotten eaten off. I think all it will need is a quick discing, planting, and rolling to get it in. Sent from my XT1710-02 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
They were summer plots full of buckwheat, sunflowers and catjang peas. Deer had they mowed down pretty well so I didn't have to much litter in the fields.
How much more time can we give Bcowg to check in? He/She signed up fairly early in the sign up period so maybe just forgot??
Same here. Hoping to get mine in on Monday. Sent from my XT1710-02 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Bcowg hasn’t been on since July 23 and only have 39 messages. We have to give him/her the 2 weeks but I would bet on getting an alternate
Got everything planted yesterday. Had to put a little pep in my step when I saw the rain clouds moving in, finished just in time. The Egyptian Wheat I planted this spring is starting to head out, its ten foot tall in some places and six foot in another.
Looking good! I was going to over seed my sorghum, buckwheat, lab lab, and beans with brassicas, but it’s too thick and tall, so I’m just going to let it run it’s course.
Thanks man! I have nine more to go for customers that are all gun hunters. The only thing I am doing differently is getting rid of this open cab Kabota. I like compact tractors but that thing makes me feel like I was in a rodeo all day.
Wife and daughter are out and about tonight so I'm hanging out in my man cave (shed) watching Bowhunt Or Die and fine tuning my setup. Talked to my dad a couple days ago and he claims to have seen a couple studs in the last few days. This is on the property that I've avoided hunting the last few years to build back some population. Only a couple weeks till the season starts. Usually try to catch them grouped up the first couple weeks then leave them alone until pre rut kicks.
Nice. I put in my last plot this afternoon. I an almost ready...gotta relentlessly shoot my bow now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
