has anyone sent pms to the ones who haven't checked in? Any ideas on captain (Not me) or team name? Only name I can think of at the moment.. Cernunnos...(The Celtic God of the Hunt) Yes it's weird that I know that.
I haven't sent any pm's and was thinking the same thing about a name. I was thinking something like "Team 3's worst nightmare" but I like Cernunnos.
Wow, there are some serious hunters in this group! I'm going to have to up my game. The last few years have been tough, haven't shot a buck since 2014. This is partly by choice and partly because we just haven't had many or any mature bucks to shoot. Hoping for better numbers and bucks this year. There were a couple borderline bucks that we saw last year that should be shooters this year if they made it. Here are some of my past bucks.
I’m ok with whatever name or Captain. I don’t feel that I have the experience in the contest or on the board to be captain so I’d rather opt out of being considered for it.
Thx, I'm liking the team I'm on for sure. Huge bucks are few and far between but I managed to kill a 115" 8 point last year, a small buck in NY, and a doe in each state in archery. Big Dan - A 115” deer is nothing to sneeze at in PA. I have a couple of buddies up there that come down and hunt with me some so I see what they are shooting and getting pics of up in Eastern PA and 115” seems to be about 90th percentile for that area. If they will spread those antler restrictions statewide and a few more guys will change their mindset... PA is capable of having a good number of really nice bucks in a few years.
The only team name I’ve came up with is Nocktober’s End. I’m good with whatever the majority is good with as far as captains and team names. This is only my second year in the contest so I don’t feel like I should be considered for captain.
Well I better introduce myself to y'all. Name is Drew I'm from Southeastern Idaho. I public land hunt for deer, elk, bear if I decide to get a tag for one. Hoping to fill two tags this year. I feel pretty outclassed here, boys! I hate to admit it but this is my very first year bowhunting. My 15 year old son (mathewsmq1) got me into archery last year. Archery seemed to come to me naturally & I love it! We have some really nice prospects this year! I will share photos as soon as I can get them on my computer. We are looking forward to making memories, filling the freezer & hopefully getting a beauty for the wall.
Let's discuss a few things.. What are the responsibilities of the captain? Names, so far we have Noctobers End and Cernunnos. I'll throw in Boilerroom Bandits.

I've had a few conversations in threads with your son and we are glad to have ya! We all started at year one so hopefully we will be able to help you connect on some of those bigger bucks. Seriously and with all due respect, lay down the law on him! You brought him into the world... you have dibs on the big buck. Lol!
