I thought about going out this evening but didn’t want to fill my boots up with sweat. 89 here now and 90 for high tomorrow. Cool shot coming on Thursday (73 high) with some rain. If not raining too bad I’ll be making my debut.

I hope! I’m rusty for sure. Still don’t understand why I’ve been busted two nights in a row downwind from the deer. Hopefully it was a doe and not a decent buck

From the smell and the sounds I believe I am about to see my first deer of the season. I always used to think my dad was kidding when he said you can smell a deer long before you see it. Probably these two little bucks that are always in here.

Just had a doe cruise by at 20. I’m not taking any does from this property though. Not so bad after all. Wouldn’t mind if one of these bajillion coyotes made a stroll by

Jumped a fawn on the way out at about 15 feet, scared the hell out of me. I wasn’t using a light coming out and it was eating acorns by my other stand. Probably won’t be back out until Saturday.

Had three does, four fawns, two smaller bucks in front of me the last hour of my sit, nothing exciting. Saw a nice 8 and am sure it was him I was hearing back in the woods, sounded like he was working a scrape or making a rub. He stayed in the top of the field when he finally did appear so I made my exit. Still early and tons of acorn mast in the woods. Probably will go back out Friday and sit in a different stand near a huge old oak.

Btw, the only thing worse than wearing a pair of rubber boots without socks is trying to take them off..

I’m headed out to my parents again this evening. Instead of setting just inside the edge of the corn, I’m going to go deeper to the oaks. A little rain should quiet those damn corn stalks down so I can travel around it about 4 rows in. Good luck Shocker!

Yep big temp swing here over night as well and I had an 8:00am meeting that couldn't be moved. I saw a really nice buck Monday morning in my back yard, too bad I wasn't in a tree. Good to know that there is at least one shooter. I plan to hunt Saturday and may be able to sneak in a hunt Sunday as well. It's high time I get my butt in a stand.

Just cut the corn all around me but there’s standing nearby too. Well see. Looks like their piling in here from this corner. Brought a cam to put up and wouldn’t you know it.... no sd

They should make a model with at least 4Gigs of internal storage so you aren’t s.o.l. If you forget your card

Still near 100 degree heat index here in SC KY. No reasonable weather in forecast until at least middle of next week. I’ll just spend that time getting as many things taken care of as possible. Good luck to you guys that are getting out.

I should have gone out tonight, the cold front they said was stationary and stalled out north of my place by 80 miles decided it didn't give a care what the meteorologists said and moved south. Wind is out of the north and perfect for my favorite stand.

Well I would have lost a hundred dollar bill tonight. I didn’t see one deer. Thought I’d at least see one in the spot I was at. Better luck next time

I was expecting does as well. Had a little yearling buck walk under my stand. He didn’t even stop for acorns.

On some red oaks next to my food plot. It’s hot, but they seem to be working the acorns hard. Hopefully, with a little luck, I’ll see something tonight. Sort of in a cross wind and should be okay, until something is super close, in that case, an arrow should have already been sent.
