I figure if I get on her nerves enough, she’ll be ready for me to get out of the house

Plan Ted this plot at the end of Aug and we have had a bunch of rain. Plot had come on nicely. I left soybeans in the middle. Hoping the green holds them into the season. They have been browsing the beans heavy all summer. 11 more days to get in them. IMG_20180824_105712215.jpeg IMG_20180824_101812845.jpeg IMG_20180914_081151039_HDR.jpeg

This is a nice year and a half old doe, hoping she gets bred and is able to make it through the season. IMAG2061.JPG

That's cool! I've seen a few over the years but the only one I ever had a chance at was a piebald w/ 4 white legs about the 10" high. I shot her w/ a bow and the next night I had another one under me w/ much more white but no tag.

3d shoots are over with, quiver is loaded, and back on the bow. The weather is showing a high of 68 and low of 43 on 10/1 here. I walked down to the edge of my plot the other day and the beans are getting hammered. Still no pods out in the middle where they haven’t been. These next 13 days will feel like an eternity. Nice piebalds! I couldn’t help but notice you’re using American hunter feeders, how much do you like them?

I like them well enough. I got that one on sale at the end of the season last year. I bought the gravity feed extra and a funnel for like $160 all together. Then I sold the sunslinger it came with on craigslist for $30. So $130 and I shove 6 bags of protein in it every two weeks.

Caleb where’s your mom these days? She has been pretty quiet for a while. Tell her to give us a holler sometime.

    Hey all!

I'm still around! We've been traveling the country delivering our custom furniture.....soooo, I've been away from my computer.
Now it's time for me to get out there & brush up on my skills before our season opens!!!
We have an awesome little makeshift hunting shack out back of the house. Caleb has a feeder out there & we've been seeing some activity. He's a good kiddo & said he'll let me take the buck if only this one buck keeps coming in. He's the one that does all of the leg work for us & think it would only be fair if HE got the first buck here but he insists on me getting my first ever deer. :) So, fingers crossed, I'll be harvesting my first deer ever at the start of season. :) Wish me luck, boys!!!

Let me know if you have any need for cedar lumber, eastern red cedar that is. I have been cutting a lot of cedars down and having them milled.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Starting Friday I will be radio silent for about 9 days. I am heading to Wyoming to hunt antelope, trout fish, and maybe shed hunt. When I get back it will be go time for me in Iowa!

It's BLM and private that we hunted. Monster horned goats back then. Permission was very obtainable. Now not so much. Deadbeat Stan Kronke owner of the Rams bought up the private ranch a number of years ago and put it all off limits. Unless your rich.
