I’m pretty stoked up for this year, and the fun of the contest makes it that much better. People that are serious about hunting rooting for each other to have success is what draws me to the contest.

How about plans/rutcations? I’d love to be able to save all my days off and let weather/conditions dictate but I have to get may name on the calendar for vacay. Of course I’ll still have a few sick days to use :woot: but so far I’m off 11/1 - 11/6 and 11-9 - 11-19 for rutcation. I’ll take a few early days off to hunt evenings in October. I’ve got 2 long weekends in December and off from 12/21 - 1/2. Hopefully I’ll have filled my tags and will be strictly waterfowling by then. I’ll be hunting a few private farms in Calhoun co., Madison co., and Pope co. Illinois as well as a couple hunts in eastern Missouri. Can’t leave out public. I’ll be hitting public ground here in Illinois as well

I like the make up of our team so far. We’ve got people from high end whitetail states like Iowa, Oklahoma, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska and Kentucky so far. I was on team with KDorsett last year and he killed a buck for our team. I think he’s from Georgia but also hunts in KY. It’s nice to have people from a lot of different places but we’ve sure got some good states represented so far.

I'll be in Wyoming September 22-29. I'll hunt most evenings Oct 1-26. October 27-Nov 11 I'll be in a tree all day every day. Then back to evenings except for weekends until December, then evenings only Through January 10th

I’ve been saving my time and am going to sprinkle some days out through October, weather being the deciding factor, and then November 12-16th. I’m prepared to hit the late season hard as well if it comes to that.

I have 12 vacation days that I can take whenever I want. I’ll probably use most of them to hunt good weather days between 10/25 and 11/10 when our God forsaken rifle season comes in

Well this is my first year on a team. I joined this year bc I lost my hunting buddy a couple of years ago and last year kinda blew not being able to really share my experiences with anyone. Last year I knocked down a 141 and a 125 as well as 2 does.

IDK...I might wager against you for that title haha:busted:

Multiple deer nuts on the same team sounds like a recipe for success!

Yes! This!! The team I was on that won a number of years ago did exactly that. We all shot a doe with the exception of maybe one guy and then a few of us put down average+/- bucks.

Wish I had pictures to share but I just haven't made time to get out and put up cameras this year. I'll throw some up when I go out in early September to hunt.

Had about 12-15 blank sd cards in a pelican card case. Made it through about 4 cams and then noticed I lost my sd case.:confused:somewhere in the high grass. I retraced my steps but no bueno. I hope it turns up. Was able to Check a couple cards after that though. Nothing too crazy but I didnt expect a whole lot. This place is a good rut spot. The wide short tine guy in the middle was probably my number 3 buck from last year. He’ll be 6.5 this year and looks like his tines are loosing some gas. My buddy passed him with a half rack last December. He didn’t look good then so I’m glad to see he made it. I know I committed a crime by posting pics of pics but I was too tired and ticked about losing my sd cards to care. More to come I hope!

Haha yes. I adjust my schedule during hunting season to start earlier so I can get off early enough to hunt most evenings.

You must be completely worn out by mid January. I’d run out of gas quick hunting that much.

Well that’s worst case scenario. Last year I was tagged out after 8 hunts. But the year before I hunted until January 9th...

Yea - In a one buck state like KY it can be over in a hurry if you get lucky. In 2016 I hunted a grand total of 2.5 hours. I didn’t really need any more meat due to friends and family shooting several deer so shamefully I did not get out and do my part taking out some does. I wasn’t in the contest so didn’t need one for that reason either. It was nice being done but then of course you miss being in the woods during cool weather and rut action. It’d be nice having two buck tags but I know the one buck rule has helped us a lot so I’m ok with it. After I retire I might start branching out to other states nearby on years where I’m lucky enough to tag out pretty early. Tennessee is getting better every year and there’s alway Southern Illinois.

I hate all of you. But mostly I hate Brad Kaufman. I called dibs on Boonerville and he gives me....Fitz? Sure he's a nice guy; but he sees more wolves than deer in a season.

I hope all your deer get CWD; you all get ED; and all your WAGs get nasty cases of PMS lasting through November.

Morning, Dan checking in from PA. I'll be hunting both PA and NY and like all of you, I breath archery hunting. Excited to be on this team and hope to contribute as I have in the past. I don't have any other state plans this year but my schedule is flexible and I usually take the first two weeks of November for vacation. I run a bunch of cameras on private and public land and PA is coming. We have improved to whitetail size when they instituted antler restrictions. Going to be a great year!
