I put in about ten acres of plots for friends this weekend, just cereal rye, turnips, chicory and clover. Left the Kabota at home and broke out the JD4230, such a better ride and an air conditioned cab, spoiled I am. Started following Boonerville on Instagram. I am not much on social media but do stil enjoy IG. Other than that, I am going to run out to my hunting ground today and take a look at the plots I planted last Saturday.
And on another note.. If I have named my shooter buck Tenderloin Squirts I am going to be able to say "I shot tenderloin Squirts tonight" or "well it looks like the neighbor got tenderloin squirts.." Its Monday and I need a laugh, off to the joke thread, thank god for The Old Man..
Let me know. I'm not the best fisherman but I have plenty of friends who catch them like crazy. They will fly fish 20-30 in a day for fun, catch and release. The limit is 3 a day but some of the streams run black w/ fish. Sent from my XT1710-02 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That sounds like a fishing dream. I go out to New Mexico and Colorado a couple times a year to trout fish. And this all kind of ties (pun intended) into Idaho too, I always wanted to witness these runs of steelhead or just fish them in general. I have a bucket list trip that would be bow hunting elk and fly fishing and bringing coolers full of both back home. Idaho is one of the best candidates for that.
The run can be so big that they catch people netting them in the middle of the night. We have a club that raises over 1 million fries yearly and releases them. The biggest problem is they run during archery season. Most they catch are 6-8# range. And boy do they run. Sent from my XT1710-02 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That feeling you get when you get your gear boxes out and start to go through them and find that Berber fleece jacket and pants you bought on sale at the end of last year. Fun fact, I ordered the same set yesterday from Cabelas and just finished cancelling the order.
Not much for pics. Not like y'all with the big boys showing up. But stands are set. Sighted in out to sixty yards. Final prep is setting in. Cold front came moving in today. Set stands in rain at 47°. Bring on the rut. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
Oh my Lord.... 47 degrees! What I wouldn’t give for a high temperature of 77 degrees this weekend. It is absolutely miserable here (over 90 with 90% humidity) and no end in sight. Ugh.
Nice! It's a cool 72° here this morning and the mercury will top out at 96° today.. we are on the downhill slide after this cool front comes through, hopefully.
I have a couple properties that are far away and I don’t hang any cams. To me the unknowing is almost as fun as getting pics.
Some awesome pics you guys are getting! Some real studs in play for you guys. Season opens this weekend here in Nebraska, of course I'll be in Texas. I'll waive at Okiebob as I drive through. First time in the stand will probably be the weekend of the 17th unless we get a cold front before then. I've been seeing lots of does and fawns the last couple weeks around my place. It cooled down for a couple days and their patterns immediately changed, before then I hadn't seen much. Looking forward to getting into the woods, I could use the therapy.
We have snow in the high country!! Finally got a picture from the porch today. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
