I have one that took a pic prior to hanging but after that it would not get signal at all, not even at home. It will go through the connection process but always ends up with one red bar. I have tried to reset, take batteries out, clean sim card. Could it be a bad SD card? Same card from last season.
When I first got cell cameras (not tactacam) I had them working in my yard, then same thing as you. Put in woods and nothing. 3 things I had to sort 1. Yes I needed series 10 micro SD cards and not the normal ones 2. I had to update the software 3. I had to get a different antenna. I'm using ones I bought off of amazon that have I think a 15ft cord. I then attach the antenna as high up in the tree as I can for better signal.
I’m all in on this one! I have the same problem. Sent it back to tacticam and they had it working but it doesn’t work for me at home. Also drains the batteries extremely fast. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’ve found that when I long format a new sd card then follow the standard startup instructions I have the best success. Anywhere you have a bad signal will drain your batteries especially if your settings are set to immediate and video mode. FWIW my Tactacams are fairly reliable in low signal area where both my MoultrieMobile and Spypoints have failed. Good luck, cell cams are the best…and worst lol
I'm interested to see what you find out. I litterally just bought my first cell cam the other day and just put it in the field two days ago. Mine is the 3.0, which works automatically on whatever network it finds the best signal. Pretty cool feature. I put this cam in a spot that I have zero service on my verizon phone, but this thing connected right up to the ATT network when I turned it on.
