We are having family over tomorrow for a big dinner. I've got a pork shoulder on the smoker and tomorrow I'll grill some 50-50 burgers, beef burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob and we shall all drink and be merry. I'll hunt tonight and the morning. Lol.
That good feeling was fix shooting 3 deer. , boy I hope that’s not all the good feelings . Congrats Fix

A quick 160 from you should be the nail in the coffin for these turkeys chasing us Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
It was dead tonight. I'll get a couple more hunts this week. It was fun learning the new property a bit.
Rut is about to peak out here in the next couple weeks. Not a lot of fresh buck sign around my place. I guess the buck I killed was the only one on my side of the mountain. I've never really hunted does in rut, but that's the plan. Of course I'll shoot another buck if a good one shows up. Let's close this contest out and destroy their resolve, hopes and dreams.
I was having the worst season of my life. It all can turn around in an instant. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
I knew going into this season, it would be more about my kids than me. My older two are big enough and comfortable with being in treestands, and my oldest passed hunter safety over the summer, so a lot of it has been about getting him ready to hunt on his own. From that perspective, it has already been a big success as a family, just a struggle for me personally.
