I got my other cell cam running again. Not sure what the problem was, but nice to not buy another one. I'll hike it over to a transition area on north slopes. It's been hot and I don't think they are moving too far now on south slopes.

I’ve had my two Tactacams out over my two mineral sites for a couple of weeks now and the lack of deer traffic is alarming.

There have been a few nights that a lone doe shows up. I’ve only gotten two buck pics (pretty sure they are the same buck). In both of the pics he is running away from something.

I wonder what’s going on over there.

That's crazy, Chief. Probably Coyotes. Idk.

I got my other camera hung on that transition and it's a hub of movement with trails converging right off good cover. Some old rubs around too. There's a perfect oak tree there within 35 yards of 3 trails. Hope something goes by. I have no idea what is running around up there.

My wife has been seeing dogs running loose around here on that side of the road lately.

I’m not sure what to do if that’s the problem. I don’t think I have it in me to shoot dogs.

That'll do it. And, yeah, I don't think I could randomly off a neighbors dog. It would have to really cross a line for me. Like hurt a family member or something.

You’d think that if it were dogs I’d have at least one dog pic.

    Oh well.

Good news is deer that get spooked from dogs don’t really stay spooked long… while running hounds it’s a come thing to see deer let dogs run right by as long as the dogs aren’t running them

I once posted a couple of trail cam pics of a young doe standing in the background while a couple of dogs trotted by her at about 15 feet.

Are feral hogs around? They will run off deer.

In Fairbanks, making the 4 hour drive to the airport to get our Bush flight; supposedly flying out tomorrow morning but if they can do i will fly out today.
Still on NY time; woke up here at 5 am and was wide awake .
Repacked and organized all my gear; 50 pounds limit with food and gear for 10 days is no joke …

Both bows are shooting great. Broadheads good on the RX-7 and should be on the Helix, TBD later. 20240823_133700.jpg

Well guys just spent the last 5 hours finishing up my stand work. I’m beat!!! Final count of 11 different sets ready to go. Some lock ons some saddle sets but they are all ready to crawl in and hunt. I may make one more trip back there in a few weeks to pull cards one last time but planning on letting it soak until opener. trying to get my honey do list done in the next month so there will be no distractions when October rolls around.
    let’s go!!!!
