Here we go again fellas. Who’s gonna put the first points on the board for us this year? I don’t think I’ll be hunting Kentucky this year so my season really starts on 15 September. Arkansas is starting a two day velvet buck hunt this year and I believe it’s the first weekend in September. I haven’t decided if I want to do that or not. Wattensaw is a terrible place to be that early. Thick mosquitoes, seed ticks, chiggers and the rattlesnakes are still out in force. Not to mention the heat. I’ll think about it.

I sure hope so! I hope to have a lot more time for hunting this Fall. Just ordered my plot seed from Tom at Rakk Fuel and look forward to doing more prep and hunting. Last year was such a horrible drought that I did not even put in plots. Now, we are so wet that we are struggling with putting up hay. Might be a great summer for Fall plots. Mock scrapes will be going in soon also. I have seen some large racks very early this year. If we can avoid another round of EHD, we should be good to go.
