I’m set up around Windsor, MO to hunt the new moon. The last time I hunted the October new moon here was in 2019 and this happened:

There are some big bodied deer here.

Some of these posted scores aren’t the most confidence inspiring.

I need a road trip. It's been tough sledding here in my neck of the woods.

I happily left knowing I could travel there to hunt. All the good stuff, none of the prolonged misery. Lol. You live in the best part of MO in my humble opinion. But I'm partial to the hills.

As slow as it been back in NY, I think I am going to head back to KY or Back to Illinois sooner then expected. After I get down from the stand today I might have to book a flight

I’m taking a couple of days off from hunting.

My brother and his wife are stopping by today for lunch We’re going to strategize on a new 120 acre property around Flippin, AR that we got permission to hunt and then I’m going to drive to his house in Flippin Thursday morning. We’ll take our stands, do a little walking/scouting/stand hanging and then I’ll be back in a tree on a new property Thursday afternoon.

After that I’ll probably stick around the house until the 30th. On the 30th or 31st I’ll tow the travel trailer to Mark Twain National Forest and get set up for a little over two weeks of camp hunting.

@Brett Smith will be arriving on the 1st, coming all the way from Nebraska to hunt for four or five days. @Ridgerunner3 is suppose to show ip up on the 5th and @S.McArthur may be joining us as well. We may even be able to talk @virginiashadow into making an appearance. @cantexian has a standing invitation but I haven’t heard if he’s going to be able to make it yet.

On the 11th gun season opens and I’ll have Thumper with me on stand then. I love that gun.

Hey, we have hills here. They’re little baby hills, but they’re hills. What we don’t have is those big bodied giant bucks you have in northern Missouri.

I would say that my appearance this year is highly unlikely. I would like to make it, but my wife's current job is a contract position without any PTO. So, that leaves me on solo dad duty if one of the kids gets sick. I already had to burn a couple of extra vacation days staying home with my boys while they were on Fall Break last week. I am also in the position that I need to be banking some extra PTO for next year. There is a solid chance I will be moose hunting this time next year and I would love to take a full two weeks for that. Who knows, maybe I will work it out to come. It will be a last minute decision if I do.

Fine, but I am not nuzzling your neck or brushing your hair. That's reserved for someone who kills at camp.:biggun::lol:
