Longish beams and okay mass will help, but the short tines going to be hard to get you there I think. Nice deer no matter what!
Small issue tonight boys!! Got the crossbow out to shoot again and noticed a small splinter on the one limb. I took it out to Lancaster archery and the good news is they said they could fix it under warranty but the bad news is they can’t say for sure it will be done by October 1. They are going to talk to Barnett tomorrow to try to get an eta but I may be buying another back up this weekend in case it’s not done. No way in hell I’m going to miss the opener. I still have the halon 6 and tried shooting it but my glasses and bad eyes make it almost impossible to have clear target and pin. Absolute lack of confidence at this point and I don’t want to wound something by trying to make it work. That is the reason I switched to crossbow so I could still play during archery season. It definitely takes some of the challenge out of it but I have 100 percent confidence I will hit what I’m aiming at even with the glasses. ****ty timing but one way or another I will be firing arrows on October 1. All these set backs are just adding to the so epic story of how we won our first victory. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
Hopefully it is just a small setback. I’m hoping that since Barnett is still making the model I have that the limbs should be available. So glad to live 15 minutes away from Lancaster archery. I feel that they deal enough with Barnett that they should have the pull to get it turned around quickly. Great group of people there who are always willing to help however they can. I didn’t even buy it there but still eager to do whatever they can. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I agree with this . Also post a pic here and we can help you decide if it's safe or not. Always remember if you go to a foot doctor they will find something wrong with your foot. (Just something my dad used to say) Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
It was on the edge. He did look at it and said the it was working inward on the limb or he would have clipped it and filed it. I don’t have it anymore. I left it with them. Honestly I don’t need to take the chance of having the thing blow up in my face. I’m hoping to hear from them today or tomorrow with eta. My next move will be once I get that call. I did speak with a buddy last night that told me if I have to buy another one to get me started into the season that he would buy it for his son once mine is back in order. Long story short, I sorted out my release issue and I'm very happy with it. Quick summary is I'm an idiot.
Bah. It's dumb. I just didn't want to change anything again, so I drug my feet. Finally decided to move my sight on the gang rail after bottoming out my micro and still didn't get there. It was a simple thing. Took 3 shots to get it dialed and then verified my broadhead tune was still there. It was. My arrows are touching at 35. Very impressed how much increase in accuracy. Also impressed with my stubborn, thick headed self.
I noticed a jump in accuracy with it also. Maybe it’s because it is such a rigid release for a wrist style. No joints or pivots. Takes a bit of getting used to but it seems to work really well.
I'm still learning the intricacies of all things bow. I got into bow hunting pretty late in life and I'm mostly self taught. Some aspects of bows and tuning still intimidate me I guess. The only good thing I feel that I learned early, when I bought my first bow, was how to shoot correctly. There happened to be a pro at the shop the day I bought a pos browning and he worked with me for about an hour going over proper form. Single handedly the most useful thing I learned early on. It never left me.
