So I guess there is a 170 class buck in the area I’ll be hunting in Kentucky…. I think I’d poo if I got him… Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good morning fellas. 7 days to opener. I have to spend my holiday weekend going through our storage unit to document all the stuff the movers broke or damaged. Yee ha. It is a 20x30 stacked to the roof. We had a horrible crew move us and we have to get this done so we can file a claim. The company has been good to us after the fact, so I guess there's that.
Well that sounds like a horrible way to spend a holiday weekend!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Finally got a chance to watch stripes. Great flick!! It all seemed very familiar so I’m guessing I’ve watched it before but must have been years ago. Seeing how young the cart was really makes me feel old. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Got the little 9month old endless pit fed, wife is running errands with her and her mom today so I’m going to prep a saddle spot, and hang 2 stands for my dad. Should be a nice day out there, excited to be in the woods
I hung a ladder stand in the middle of this old wood tree stand. This is on the 50 acres by my house. It’s a really good spot at times. I liked the tree so I figured a ladder stand would be perfect tucked in it. It’s a 21 foot millennium with the double supports. Very very solid stand but super heavy. Went up really easy. Figured it a good spot to take my son if he wants to come. Also it’s right on my west property line and my neighbors dad hunts maybe two days a year during our gun season. I leave town every year. He is getting up there in age and I figured this was an easy walk for him and really easy to get into. I told him he welcome to use it.
I'd rather take a volleyball to the eye then have to deal with the moving stuff. Somehow, I missed that post last night. I hope Fix is alright. Reminds me of the time I was hitting fly balls during practice. Centerfielder through a heater and I tried knocking it down with the bat. I knocked it down alright, right into my eye. I was messed up for 6 weeks.
You better shoot the first buck that is bigger then anything you have ever killed in NY. That shouldn't be to much of a challenge.
Ouch! Hey may never recover from that one! I'm wondering where Fix is now as well. Hope he's okay. I've been monitoring the team threads watching to see if anyone checks in. While I was doing that I was doing something else on the forums that I enjoy: Going back and reading through old threads. Old team threads, old LFTS threads and other threads that interested me,.... that sort of thing. I only have three more people that need to check in and then the teams will be complete. For now though, I'm tired of looking at the computer screen. I thing I'll go outside and shoot some arrows.
I just got in from hanging that stand and clearing a couple shooting lanes. My kids are at camp for the weekend with my mother, my wife and are going driving over later for the evening. I got bored so I made Mountain Goat Sausage with roasted peppers, potatoes, some goat fat and some eastern Mediterranean seasons I got from Oak Town Spice shop. Finishing it off with flat bread wedges and tzatziki sauce with hint of curry.
I only shot 25 arrows and didn’t do that good. The first shot was a combination disaster/perfect heart shot. I walked out the door, walked to the 50 yard mark, nocked an arrow, aimed and launched. I watched as the arrow sailed straight towards the gravel in between me and the target and knew in a instant that I’d forgotten to adjust my sight from 20 yards to 50. Weirdly enough, the arrow glanced up and hit the heart on the target. I guess I’m lucky enough that I can call bank-shots now.
