Hunted with a bow when I was 15, then hockey took care of the next 18 falls; I finally picked up a bow again last year. I was fortunate enough to have a friend give me his old bow last summer (Mathews SolocamQ2) and it has been an obsession that has continued to grow ever since. I was able take a small buck on the last weekend of archery season up here in Manitoba. I am looking forward to a spot and stalk black bear hunt this spring but in the meantime I am going to enjoy this fresh snow and do some icefishing/snowmobiling.

Yes RoyC, the change in technology and equipment truly is amazing. Two summers ago I became certified as a NASP instructor and finally got approved for a grant to purchase the equipment this year. I received my order last week and the Mathews Genesis bows for the students are certainly a huge improvement over the bows that were available for use in the schools when I was a student. Hoping to start archery in class in April and an afterschool club next September pending the cutting of a little more red-tape!
