First I stopped at my place to collect my cards out of my cameras. I forgot the replacement cards last time. I did a quick walk through a couple of bedding areas anmd my food plots and found 3 sheds. One in my food plot, one next to a bed and another where the deer crawl under a fallen log.
This one was in my clover plot within sight of my trailer.

This one I found in a bed next to a stump.

Here is the one that must have been knocked off as he ducked under the log.

Looks like all 2 year olds.

I think these 2 bucks must be brothers.

Then I headed to the Park to do some scouting. The first area I walked through was a tangle of Bush Honeysuckle and Multiflora Rose. What a jungle, but I did find a few beds in there on a couple of small points.

I also found a bunch of persimmon trees. (Might have to pay that area a visit next fall.) I also found where thry have been eating honeysuckle vine leaves as far up as they can reach.

I then walked through a lot of open timber without seeing much sign. Until I started on the side on a large ridge. There were rubs everywhere, both big and small and old and new. I will pay this area a visit this season.

Close to hear is where I found the only shed in the Park. Laying next to his bed just off a trail.

    The view from his bed.

I'd like to show you on the topo exactly where I found all of this, but this is Public Ground! :D And I barely got a start scouting it. I need to make a few more trips and map out some paths to my honey holes. The weird thing about today was, all of the walking I did, I didn't see a single deer or turkey.

Post those coordinates up John...I'd be more than happy throughly scout those areas out for you:D.

That shed you found at your place with the fork thing going on is a pretty cool one. Be interesting to see what he is like next year.

Especially since the only sheds I found the last 2 seasons were old ones from previous years. I think having my food plots are holding more deer on my property. I am finding many more beds this year in the snow than in previous years. Maybe just having snow on the ground is keeping them closer to food too. Whatever it is, I'm likeing it. :D

Heck, if I had that many nice sheds on my property, I don't know if I would even hunt public land!

Nice sheds, I went today and didn't find any. Some huge rubs, 2010 is looking promising for you already.

Sounds like a pretty productive day. Can't a beat a day like that in the woods.

Very cool day. I couldn't imagine finding that many sheds in a season let alone in a day. Do you have any trailcam pics of these guys?

I was always under the impression that these markings were not historic rubs but rather frost cracks or something along those lines. Anybody know for sure? What an awesome day you had jmbuckhunter! I would love to find one shed like the ones you found. Congrats

Those are definately old rubs from a few years back. The hillside was full of old and new ones.

Wow.. what an AWESOME day! I'd be happy as a clam finding that many sheds in one day!

Headin' out tomorrow after church to take my oldest boy on his first shed huntin' trip, so we'll hope... :)
