I got this skull and antlers I found on my familys property and some critters got to it before I did. I think im going to primer the skull and then paint it white? but I dont know how to fill in the gaps in the antlers? maybe bondo, or clay? any answers or comments appreciated. thanks

If you go on Van dykes or any taxidermy supply store im pretty sure they sell antler repair kits. Its not going to look just like new but it will help out some. Instead of painting the skill you could try bleaching it, it will look way better. Good luck

Yeah that would work. Even some beauty stores have stuff that is a little stronger. Either one will work. Good luck. Did you get a chance to look at the antler repair kit?

If you do paint it don't use gloss paint.

Bleach will break down the bone. Use Hydrogen Peroxide instead. Will whiten the skull but not damage anything. Be careful not to get any one the antlers or it will whiten those also.

Flat white looks way better than gloss in my opinion

The peroxide that you get from a beauty salon for bleaching hair works a lot better than the stuff you get from the drugstore. I did one this year, and the results are good.

Use 40 volume cream developer (for hair)! Brush it on with a paint brush, make sure not to get any on the antlers. Leave on for a day or two under a light. Wash off and repeat if needed.
