Any rest that LOCKS into a position like this, and then is release basically by SHOCK, isn't going to be the BEST rest to have on a bow that doesn't have very much handshock it would seem to me. I'll use a Prong rest long before I'll try to use a drop-away that I have contact issues with. Actually after the two I mentioned the next rests that I really like are the Golden Key Premier series with the Micro Adjust. I think there is also a big difference between the Ultra and the HD and Pro series rests, which I've heard are much better as far as the fletching contact issues.

I've installed 4 of the base model el cheapo QAD,2 on my son's 40# bows and I have yet to have fletching contact with any of them.

I must be holding my mouth right or something.:tu:

Of course,I have not had any issues with the Whammy rest either and that is my rest of choice and others seem to hate it.

Had a friend complaining about his whammy on the course 1 day.He was getting contact at times.I could clearly see he had set it up and timed it wrong.I mean,it was visible to the naked eye to me.

I don't doubt you at all Todd, I just know on both my AM35 and my Trykon XL (tricked out w/ Z3 cams, etc), it seemed the rest didn't drop fast enough, I shortend the cable a bit, lengthened it a bit, nothing I did seemed to solve the issue, went back to a TT and Shaffer and BH's with FP's at 40yds again....:tu: I sold it on a bow and the guy that I sold it to is shooting feathers so he's had no problems either, but I definitely had contact, and I'm not shooting that fast of arrows. Maybe I should've sent it down to KY and had you trick it out for me the RIGHT way.... As it was, I got a Shaffer Tec rest for $20, so I think I made out okay on the deal..... :D

All the ones I set up do shoot feathers BUT I check with vanes to ensure clearance.BUT,knowing they shoot feathers,I have no problem telling the weekend warrior to buy the cheap one.

My son does shoot vanes on his target rig but they are shorties.
