Ok, I am going to buy the new mattews Z7 in the next few months. I am trying to figure out what sites and rest I want so I can go head and buy them. On the sights I have went with a G5 Optix XR which I really like but they have two sizes of pins to chose from. Would the .029 take in more light than the .019? Which on would you get? As far as the rest I was thinking of some kind of drop-away, but I want one that the arrow won't fall out of. Any way I need some suggestions. Thanks Scott
i use the .019 pin sights..love them...sweet bow...i want to shoot the Z7 and the destroyer..im gonna get one of these two bows here for xmas..
I think most guys like the .019 pins. That little bit makes a big difference when shooting longer distances.
I am a firm follower of Viper sights. They are very solid and get the job done. As for a drop away rest, you really can't beat a Limb Driver. Solid design and great customer service.
Ben i just got the viper sites last year...went to fin feather and fur..talk to a guy...and talked me into getting these viper sites...I like my sites alot..
Not sure about the sights, but for a rest a Limb Driver is the way to go. If you want total containment you could try a QAD, but I would stick with the Limb Driver.
0.019" pins for sure. The QAD HD drop away works great with every Mathews I've put it on and the HD matches nicely with the rest of the bow.
With every limb driver I install I include this sims combo pack. Last year VaporTrail came out with a containment feature on it's rest and it works quite well too. The Kazaway is the only rest I would consider other than the Limb Driver. In fact, I think if you were to set up the Kazaway Vital Pro Torsion Spring to the bow limb like the Limb Driver it would be the Ultimate hunting rest. I don't of anyone that has done this, but I would love to try it. I know it could be made to work and it would be an awesome set up.
ok guy I thank all of you for your imput. now as far as sights go, I looked at the viper sights and I really liked them but I don't like how they stick out there so far. the two I was looking at were the viper H1000c and the predator quickset 3000 do they extent out as far out as the other ones. I am guessing most people would choose viper sites over G5 hu... I liked the price if the viper too cause is was a lot cheaper. ok now for rest I think I am leaning tords the limb driver instead of the kazaway anyway if anyone knows about the two sights that I am looking at let me know how u like them.
