Ok so installing a ripcord fall away rest with a buddy. Easy to physically install it, but now what?? How do we make sure it's aligned correctly side to side? Just by eye? Fire a couple arrows and adjust?

    Thanks

What kind of bow is it? Center shot is different for different bows, you can usually get pretty close eyeballing it. Some manufacturers will have a center shot measurement in the owners manual, this is sometimes perfect and usually needs slight adjustment and just a starting point. A good place to find specific bow model set up info and bow tuning info period is Archery Talk.

Try modified french tuning. It is very easy and it works!

    Step 1
Hang a target bag high enough, so the bullseye is at YOUR shoulder height.

    Step 2
Put a weight on the end of a string, and hang the string
so the string splits the bullseye right down the middle.

    Step 3
Stand only 6 FEET away. Fire a field point arrow at the string.
Be PICKY. Gotta split the string fibers into a left and right side.
Arrow NEXT to the string is not good enough.

    Step 4
ONLY ADJUST the SIGHT PINS (left or right) when shooting at 6 FEET.

    Step 5
Ok. You just split the string fibers perfectly.
Now, step back to a convenient LONGER distance.
Could be 20 feet, could be 16 feet, could be 60 feet...you get the idea

    Step 6
Now, fire a 3 arrow group, if you are in no danger of robin-hooding your arrows. If you might destroy arrows, step back to a longer convenient distance.

    Now,
is your arrow group CENTERED on top of the bullseye?

If not, MOVE THE ARROW REST ONLY, at the convenient LONGER distance.

Keep firing arrow groups, and adjusting the ARROW REST
at the convenient longer distance, until the arrow group
is CENTERED on top of the bullseye.

    Step 7

    Go back to 6 FEET,
and fire a single field point arrow at the string.

ONLY ADJUST the sight pins (left or right)
until you can SPLIT the string fibers into a left and right side.

Might need a tiny teeny adjustment to the SIGHT PINS at 6 feet.

    Step 8

Go back to the CONVENIENT longer distance,
and fire 3 arrows at the bullseye.

ONLY ADJUST the ARROW REST at the longer distance.

    When you are done,
and your arrow groups at longer range are centered on the bullseye,
    AND
you can split the string fibers at 6 FEET,
you are good to go at any distance.

I just put on a new rest. I tried walk back tune but don't think I got it quit right. A little tweaking is in order. Might give the french tune a try.
