Im looking to up my charcoal grilling game-i really suck at it right now, any good videos or articles with the basics of maintaining temperature, ect Thanks
Practice makes perfect.. It is my belief that every grill regardless of brand or type has it's own quirks and nuances. You just have to fire it up and get to know it. I have friends with all the high end Traegers and whatnot and they still never come close to what I can do on a Weber. In their defense, I have been cooking on a Weber for well over thirty years. Personally, I would recommend Americas Test Kitchen and anything by Alton Brown. Feel free to ask more specific questions since you have the ear of a Certified Executive Chef, retired.
What are you grilling? I too am a weber guy with kingsford charcoal. Not that tough you just have to pay attention and figure out cooking with the lid down and not starting the meat on fire.
Check out Malcom Reed on youtube. "How to BBQ right" is the name of his channel . He also has a website.

Basic stuff, burgers, chicken, steak, venison veggies, My problems are the basics, charcoal burning out fast, temperature swinging stuff like that
Control your air flow. For long cooks I like to mix regular charcoal with lump, it will burn for a while. As soon as you finish cooking choke the airflow and begin building your "bed", the previous burn is the foundation for your next burn. And always spend the money on heavier grates.
