Hey Everyone, I'm taking a critical thinking class and doing research for a project where we are arguing points of whether or not wolves should be managed in Wisconsin. Obviously I am for managing the wolf population. If any of you could post stories, experiences, articles that you know of that would support the argument that would be awesome! This point of this thread is for research, not looking for a debate. If you have any questions please let me know! Thanks in advance! Tim
Look to Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. They have all had wolves forced upon them and have seen extreme declines in other wildlife. The most frustrating part is that even though the goals for populations/breeding pairs have been met, the wolf enthusiasts continue to move the goal line and want an even larger number. And they are fighting with our tax dollars.
That's good advice. I did read an article where many elk were killed by wolves in Wyoming. Going to use that as a source. Thanks!
I'll have to look for the DNR link but for the other data google wolf reproduction rates and some university did a great in depth study of it without the DNR's interference. I'll look later for the dnr population stat's for 06 but if you need it sooner, you have the formula written out you can pull any year from the dnr stats and come to the same conclusion. The other thing is to look at the tipping point to where the land cannot sustain the growth and the packs split up and move on or die of starvation or disease.
There are so many wolves in northern Minnesota that it has raised the temperatures so much the global warming has killed off most of the moose.
That's why I like Mech so much. He's not afraid to call out when researchers let emotion or agendas take over their work.
If MN can have a successful managed elk hunt with only 150 elk in the state I think we can have a successful managed wolf hunt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kill every single one that crosses to the south side of Hwy 2. No need for wolves south of there, we pay $ for the deer herd to be there let the hunters manage the numbers not the wolves.
