Birds are gobbling their head off on the roost here in Georgia, but when they hit the ground they have hens everywhere and the hens ain't letting them do anything other than strut and look. I had a very good bird at 60 yards...he gobbled on the roost, flew the other way and I moved on him every now and then when he would let me know where he was. I finally got in front of him, but he eased around at 60...I have a legitimate 60 yard gun, but I like to shoot them in the face at close range. Inside 40 is where I like em. Same today, I went to a local WMA and the did the same...too many hunters to risk moving on the birds there. Things will cool down as far as hunter numbers go over the next few weeks, I just did not feel like getting shot in the face by someone who thinks turkeys are 6' 2" Maybe I can post some pics in the water cooler soon as I onyl shoot em with the gun. Hope all you other georgia and bama boyus had some good luck.
