Is there any place to buy replacement thread for fiber optic sights by the foot. It seems everyone wants to sell 10 ft strands. I really dont need that much. I just want to by a foot or so of each color.

    Thanks: Jeff

I don't know if it matters, but what is your brand of sight? Also do you know the dia of the fiber?

Its a bone collector 1100 (I forget the company) with .019 threads. I think the true glow should work. Correct me if im wrong. Maybe I should contact the maker of my sight and see if they would sell me a mixed pack...... maybe a lil cheaper? If anyone can remember who makes the bone collector line of sight let me know otherwise Im sure I can find it.

    THANKS GUYS

You got me there, Bone Collector puts their label on all kinds of products. I could be wrong, but I think as long as you match the diameter of the fiber, you'll be okay. My quiver has the Bone Collector label on it, but I've seen my exact same quiver with other brand names on it too. Do you have a Cabellas or Bass Pro near you? I would think that Cabellas would have a generic pack of multi colors.

thinking your right Copehunt. as long as the diameter is same, doesn't matter who makes the fibers. replaced fibers in two of my sights and they came in the red, green, yellow assortment and about 8"or 10" lengths. i would think that about any bow shop could get them for you.

thanks everyone. after doing a lil lookin around I found this site that seems to have the best deals around.
http://www.fiberopticproducts.com/Archery.htm gonna order the multi pack and see how it goes. With 3 ft of 5 different colored threads for $10. Seems like a good deal to me? all the other sites were offering3 colors and 6" strands for about the same price.

Thanks for the site grs00. After I saw the "toughfiber" I had to see if it was really as good as they make it sound. I ordered the mix pack 5 foot for $10. we will see how it goes.

Got my package of "toughfiber" from scott custom archery today. After putting the family to bed I set to replacing all 4 threads on my site. The new fiber optic thread seemed brighter than the Original but after installing all of them Im not sure if it was or not. I would like to think that it is but in the end I didnt think to keep one original and one new in the sight to check side by side. I did notice that with both the green is MUCH brighter than red and yellow. You notice it even more in dim light when I turn on my "Purple Haze" Rheostat Sight Light. this was the case with both sets of fibers. I was hoping to remedy this problem with the new thread butI guess it is what it is. Maybe my eyes just see green better than other colors? I also noticed that the "toughfiber" did not melt the same at the end. It did not want to melt. It would melt a little then start to burn. After I got past that I could melt it enough to not pull through. The fact that it didnt melt as much and mushroom out made the point of the sight seem smaller. This made me happy becasue at 30+ yards the old sights (thread) seemed to cover more of the target than I would like. I had almost wisehd that I had ordered a sight with smaller pins but I think this may improve with the new thread. Will try to get out tomarrow and see how she works.

Iowahunter123, on my new fibers i heated an old knife and touched it to the fiber. this flared the end so it would'nt pull through the pin.
