Want to get away from a peep site and just ordered a Peep Eliminator. My question is can I pull my peep site out of my current string and have everything still be fine. Its tied in, it looks like I could just cut the serving that holds it in and pull it out. Would this be OK or should I take it to a tech and have them put it on a bow press to do it. I want to get a bow press so bad but they are just so dang expensive. Here is a picture so you can see what I'm working with.

If I decide to go back to a peep site after this little experiment I will be getting a new string. The string and cables are both in good shape and I keep them waxed. Can I go with a new string only or should I change strings and cables?

Yes, you will be fine to remove it. Just carefully cut the serving, and use a string separator to separate the string and remove the peep. Use a piece of the removed serving to tie one side of the string by the peep before removing it. That way if you choose to re install it your strands will already be separated.
