Has anybody tried one of these? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Remington-Blood-Tracker-Flashlight/15135488 They have a flashlight and also a headlamp style. They're only $15, so at least wouldn't be too expensive if worthless, plus I'm sure Walmart will give a refund if it didn't work right. Reason I ask is I've seen several coyote on the land I hunt and wouldn't feel comfortable leaving a blood trail overnight if I get a deer in the evening. Was thinking about possibly picking one of these up if necessary, but thought I'd ask if anyone has used one at all.

I saw a guy the other day at the hunt club that had something similar that clipped to the bill of his hat. I don't know how much light it would throw off but once you clipped it on your hat it was out of the way until you needed it.

I have never had to track one at night but have heard a gas latern like the Coleman works to illuminate the blood much better than a regular flashlight and I know they throw off a lot of light. If it shows up the blood I think this would be the way to go. I have a couple of the laterns but hope I never have to use them to find a deer. These laterns also come in handy when the power goes off which is getting more common these days.

I have been considering buying a blood tracking light myself. Due to my work schedule I do most of my hunting in the evening and I live in the mountains eastern Ky so recovering deer can be tough.
