My oldest boy (whom you see in all our trapping pics) has been wanting a BB gun for a long time... He's shown some real growth in his maturity levels the last half of this year, and he's shown a good work ethic as well (he's the 6-and-under Missouri State Karate Champion)... in addition to ALWAYS being an incredible blessing to his little brother. He got up and came into the living room this morning, and he quickly scanned all the presents under the tree... after a couple seconds, he even said "I guess I didn't get my BB gun, since there's not anything long enough for it to be in." He he... Did I know that would be the first thing he looked for or what, LOL! I let him open up all his presents this morning, and then when all the adults were done as well (I know, mean... ), I asked him if he liked his presents and had had a good Christmas... He gave the perfect answer, and was genuinely happy with all that he'd been blessed with. When he turned around, I sat a small little wrapped package on the couch and said "Matthew... I think you missed one!" As soon as he picked it up, he knew... but though I didn't capture the moment as clearly as I would have liked on the camera, I still got enough of it that you can tell what he was thinking as he tore the paper back and saw the BBs... I then walked back into our bedroom and brought out one last wrapped present. It's a Crosman "Recruit" ... which is a cool gun you won't see in stores much (at least ours don't have them) which allows the butt of the stock to be extended as the shooter ages so the gun can grow with him.
"Kid, you'll shoot your eye out!" Way to go on the awesome gift, he's sure to remember this Christmas forever!
That's awesome Greg... I don't still have my very first one because it died on me and it was thrown away, but I do still have its replacement and I still shoot it from time to time.
I remember opening up my red rider when I was 8 years old. Loved that thing to death, and still have it too! I plan on passing it down to the next generation someday.
Awesome! I got the boy his first BB gun a few years back, the ole Red Ryder, sure is a great little gun! I created a monster though..... since then he has got a .22 Marlin, 870 Express 20 gauge, 65' Bear Kodiak Magnum Recurve, 69' Bear Grizzly Recurve and his most recent for a graduation present from hunters ed a Diamond Razor Edge! He's been talking Longbows lately, so we'll see! :D
dont know who will like it more... you or him! could only imagine the joy it would bring me if i had children seeing them taking a liking to the outdoors and hunting! GREAT GIFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make sure to stress not to shoot toward the house lol. Whenever I got mine I went outside hunting for blackbirds and got excited and forgot my training. I ended up shooting one of the windows out on the garage! Luckily they were double-paned and it only broke one layer!
I shot Michael Iaccabelli in the upper thigh .....he was taunting me :D ..oh and put a chip in a picture window ... blamed Larry Hill
