I just watched a short video about him and I'd like to pick at his brain about Big Woods hunting. :tu:

I hope the truth comes out some day as I would love for it to be real.

Agree with Dan. No doubt in my mind Mitch is one heck of a hunter, just a few character flaws. That video has been out since shortly after the kill.

If it's real...then isn't the truth already out?

True. I would just like to see more verification and closure.

    Yeah it would be nice.
I've read quite a bit about the case and the only way to get a simple verification is x-ray which won't be allowed. The skeptics all make exceedingly good points and I have trouble getting past those ears as well, they do just look like they have been cut loose and poorly (quickly) reattached with the cape. I recall seeing the pics of it back when it was first released and thinking how odd those ears were.

Few of the other skepticisms and points are flawless though either, area genetics, base width, antler coloration...they could all be explained away or simply not hold true. Either way the deer was a freak so "normal" really doesn't have much bearing.

I also would like to get some verification. Closure would be nice.

I don't blame him for flipping his middle finger to all the skeptics and not taking things further. He has never had anything to prove in my book and only the one's who want it in the record books or want to skin him alive are the ones who care if it's xrayed and scored.

I don't blame him for flipping the bird to everyone either, I expect I would do the same.
I was looking at deer here on the forum, Buckeye's buck just posted was a great deer...I noticed a lot of "droopy" ears...looked back at pics of mine from this year and yes, it too had "droopy ears", I mean really droopy....so I suppose I was wrong about the ears. I guess big old heavy bucks tend to have droopy ears from weight? Maybe Rompola has gotten the short end of the deal all these years if the droopy ears were one of the major points against it.

I just watched this video that popped up after the first one. I'd love to sit & chat with the guy, or better yet, walk a chunk of woods with him.

That's a pretty good video. He reminds me a lot of my dad back whe nhe was a younger guy...some guys are just sort of hard wired with an ability to understand, pattern and down big deer. They make it look easy or appear "lucky" but it's just a basic understanding of deer and some deep primal ability to stand toe to toe with large game and not blink from buck fever.

They guy definitely is a bonafide hunter and deer killer, I have not seen anyone, including skeptics, that doubt that.
